REE Minerals as Geochemical Proxies of Late-Tertiary Alkalic Silicate ± Carbonatite Intrusions Beneath Carpathian Back-Arc Basin

چکیده
The accessory mineral assemblage (AMA) of igneous cumulate xenoliths in volcanoclastic deposits and lava flows the Carpathian back-arc basin testifies to composition intrusive complexes sampled by Upper Miocene-Pliocene basalt volcanoes. magmatic reservoir beneath Pinciná maar is composed gabbro, moderately alkalic alkali-calcic syenite, calcic orthopyroxene granite (pincinite). complex wider area around Fi?akovo Hajná?ka maars contains mafic cumulates, carbonatite, calc-alkalic granite. Both reservoirs originated during basaltic magma underplating, differentiation, interaction with surrounding mantle crust. AMA syenites characterized yttrialite-Y, britholite-Y, britholite-Ce, chevkinite-Ce, monazite-Ce, rhabdophane(?). Baddeleyite REE-zirconolite are typical syenite associated carbonatite. Pyrochlore, columbite-Mn, Ca-niobates occur granites strong peralkalic affinity. Nb-rutile, niobian ilmenite, fergusonite-Y crystallized from mildly Zircons increased Hf/Zr Th/U ratios all felsic-to-intermediate rock-types. If rock fragments absent volcanic ejecta, sub-volcanic can be reconstructed specific zircon xenocrysts–xenolith relics disintegrated fragmentation explosion.

Peridotites from the Mariana Trough: first look at the mantle beneath an active back-arc basin
Two dives of the DSV Shinkai 6500 in the Mariana Trough back-arc basin in the western Pacific sampled back-arc basin mantle exposures. Reports of peridotite exposures in back-arc basin setting are very limited and the lack of samples has hindered our understanding of this important aspect of lithospheric evolution. The Mariana Trough is a slow-spreading ridge, and ultramafic exposures with asso...
متن کاملMantle melting as a function of water content beneath back-arc basins
[1] Subduction zone magmas are characterized by high concentrations of H2O, presumably derived from the subducted plate and ultimately responsible for melting at this tectonic setting. Previous studies of the role of water during mantle melting beneath back-arc basins found positive correlations between the H2O concentration of the mantle (H2Oo) and the extent of melting (F), in contrast to the...
متن کاملGeochemistry and petrology of gabbrodiorites from Palang Dar Area (Northeast Damghan)
Palang Dar gabbrodioritic intrusion cropped out in about 30 Km NE of Damghan in the eastern part of the Alborz structural unit. In this area a few small-scale gabbrodioritic intrusions and diabasic dikes with Middle Jurassic age intruded into shale, sandstones and limestones of Shemshak Formation. Emplacement of this intrusion into host rocks are associated with contact metamorphism and formati...
متن کاملLong-Term Stability of Back-Arc Basin Hydrothermal Vents
Since the discovery of hydrothermal vents 40-years ago, long-term time-series have focused on mid-ocean ridge systems. Based on these studies, hydrothermal vents are widely considered to be dynamic, ephemeral habitats. Under this premise, national, and international regulatory bodies are currently planning for the commercial mining of polymetallic sulfide deposits from hydrothermal vents. Howev...
